Red Jenkins has been in Nashville and cut a truck driving album. Releasedate Aug. 24-08 The album was made by the the request of Scania Sverige AB. The intro is made by Jack Barlow who is also one of Red's duet partners. The others are Dawn Sears, Becky Hobbs, John Riggs and Dennis Adkins. The musicians are Hans Singer, fiddle, Steve Hinson, steel, James Mitchell, electric guitar, Rodger Morris, piano, Joe Spivey, Bill Hullett, acoustic, guitar, Matt McGhee, bass, Rick Vanaugh, drums, Jennifer O'Brien - (Dolly Partons backupsinger) is doing backgroundvocal and Vince Gill's accordion/piano player came by and added some cajun flavor to the tune "Shreveport Truckstop Blues". The album is produced by Dennis Adkins who wrote the tune "Ace In The Hole" for George Strait This is pure country music!!!!

Red was voted as "SCANDINAVIAN ARTIST OF THE YEAR " by Kountry Korrall Magazine (No 2 last year) and his duet album "NEON BIBLE" (The Texas Honky Tonk Testament) was voted as "SCANDINAVIAN ALBUM OF THE YEAR" (No 1 last year with the duet album "THE BARTENDER (It's All On The Jukebox" (No 3 this year).

SWEDEN'S RED JENKINS LEAPS TO NUMBER ONE

Red Jenkins came in at number 7 last week as a new entry and this week his duet with Amber Digby blows away all opposition to easily take over the number one position in the Independent and Main Hotdisc charts this week. Red's song, "A Violin That Never Has Been Played" is traditional to the core and has found favour with European and Australian DJs.

This week Red Jenkins new CD´s were observed with great reviews by Yesterday & Today Records, Australia.

RED JENKINS/NEON BIBLE. First of two albums from Swedish singer who has travelled to the USA to record a duet album with a number of fine independent Texas and
Nashville based artists. He has a good voice and doesn't sing the overly familiar tunes. Good honky tonk stuff.

Second cd from the Swedish gentleman with fine taste. "Jones on the
Jukebox" has long been a favourite and it is hard to beat the duet with originator
Becky Hobbs. Ed Bruce shows he sings as well as ever, as does long lost outlaw Joe Sun.

"THE BARTENDER" VOTED AS THE SCANDINAVIAN ALBUM OF THE YEAR

The album "THE BARTENDER" (It's All On The Jukebox) was voted by the readers of Kountry Korral Magazine as "THE SCANDINAVIAN ALBUM OF THE YEAR" and "NEON BIBLE" (The Texas Honky Tonk Testament) was number 3. It has never happened before that two albums by the same artist are on the same list.

Red was also no 2 as "SCANDINAVIAN ARTIST OF THE YEAR".

AMBER DIGBY's album "HERE COME THE TEARDROPS" became " INTERNATIONAL ALBUM OF THE YEAR" and she also became "FEMALE ARTIST OF THE YEAR". Amber is singing together with Red on his duet album "Neon Bible" - they are doing the tune Red wrote - "A Violin That Never Has Been Played". This song was also recorded by the country music legend Johnny Paycheck.

BOBBY FLORES was voted "INSTRUMENTALIST OF THE YEAR". Bobby is also a great singer and he's doing "Swinging Doors" together with Red on the album "Neon Bible" .

JOHNNY BUSH was voted number 3 "MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR". Johnny Bush and Red are doing two duets on the Texas album "Neon Bible". The title track "Neon Bible" written by Red and Jim Mundy and "From Champagne To Beer".

BILLY YATES who produced Red's Nashville album "THE BARTENDER" was no 7 "MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR" and number 2 "SONGWRITER OF THE YEAR" Red and Billy are doing duets on ' "Easier Said Than Done" and "She Took His Breath Away" on the album "The Bartender".

The Swedish "country music professor" Larry Lundgren is doing a twelve page interview with Red in Kountry Korral Magazine (1-2007).
